Ethnographies of the Particular

These adventures in thought are offered to document artistic revelations in daily life which feed my creative point of view. They may be simple moments captured from conversations around the dinner table, encounters with family or strangers, or even connections with the broader world of art and culture. These observations are inspired by the work of anthropologist Lila Abu Loghod, who in “Writing Against Culture” shifted the anthropological lens to consider every day lived experiences as key drivers of cultural formation and continuity.. As an artist, I notice and delight in finding truths about the human condition. By capturing them for this collection, I hope to expand the conversation around the beautiful struggle of people like me and my family to be whole and thrive in America.
